Gadar 2 has entered the ₹100 crore club in India. As per Sacnilk.com, the film has minted over ₹50 crore at the box office on day three of its release. According to the report, Gadar 2 earned ₹52 crore nett in India on its third day of release, as per early estimates. Gadar 2 earned the highest, so far, on Sunday. The film, directed by Anil Sharma, minted ₹40.1 crore on day one and ₹43.08 crore on day two. The total collection of the film at the domestic box office currently stands at ₹135.18 crore.
To make the release day special, Salman Khan shared a post on Instagram. The actor said that “Sunny [Deol] paaji is killing it.” Along with a poster featuring Sunny Deol’s Tara Singh lifting a wheel, Salman wrote, “Dhai kilo ka haath equals chalis [40] crore ki opening. Sunny paaji is killing it. Congrats to the entire team of Gadar 2.”
Meanwhile, Esha Deol shared a post on Instagram Stories to celebrate Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 release. Along with a poster of the film, the actress wrote, “Today let’s hear the lion roar and reach soaring heights.” Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol has also shared a happy picture with his father on Instagram and said that he is “filled with excitement and pride”. “As the world eagerly awaits Gadar 2, I’m filled with excitement and pride for you. Your hard work and dedication are unmatched. Here’s to a remarkable release Papa.” Replying to the post, Sunny Deol said, “Love you, my son.”
Sharing the post on her Instagram Stories, Kangana Ranaut added clapping hands emojis. Kangana also added the song Main Nikla Gaddi Leke as the background music.
Gadar 2 is the sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was also helmed by Anil Sharma. A romantic-action drama, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was set against the backdrop of the Partition of India. In the film, Sunny played the protagonist Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver from Amritsar who falls for Sakeena (Ameesha), a Muslim girl from a Pakistani political family in Lahore.
On Sunday, hundreds of villagers in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district arrived at a movie theatre, riding on their tractors, to watch the film. Before arriving at the theatre, the villagers had taken out a tractor rally from the main marketplace of Bhilwara.
With posters of Gadar 2 on their tractors, the villagers chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai (Long live Mother India)”. Narayan Lal Bhadala, a resident of Agarpura in Bhilwara district, said the movie, was already a rage across the country and was well on course to being a blockbuster like its previous avatar.
The period-action film starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel is expected to get released on the OTT platform by October or November 2023.

Some scenes of the film have been shot in the army camp near Mandu city of Madhya Pradesh. The Lucknow location of La Martiniere College is where the movie’s climax was filmed. This college served as the Pakistan Army’s headquarters. Additionally, parts of the movie were filmed at a village in Palampur, near Lucknow.

The trailer with an approx 21 Million views within 2 weeks of it’s release, opens with scenes of protests in the streets of Pakistan, as an Indian soldier warns Tara Singh about the possibility of war with India. The trailer showcases Tara Singh fearlessly taking on Pakistani soldiers, declaring, “You don’t know who is Tara Singh, ask my enemies.” It then glimpses into Tara Singh and Sakina’s blissful married life as they dance to ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ with their son Jeete. However, Jeete is soon shown as a captive under the Pakistani army, enduring torture. In captivity, Jeete warns his captor that his father will come to Pakistan to rescue him and seek vengeance.
The trailer escalates into intense action as Tara Singh storms Pakistan to save his son. Tara and Jeete unite to fight the entire Pakistani army. Currently standing at 456.05 crores, the film is not done yet because while it should be finding itself in 5 crores range today, there won’t be much of a dip tomorrow since there is Rakshabandhan holiday on Wednesday. Then there would be a huge spike again on Wednesday and hopefully it will come close to the 10 crores mark all over again. That will further push its case towards the 500 Crore Club which will be just the right kind of entry for this all time blockbuster by Anil Sharma.
