Vijay Raghavendra: Kannada actor Vijay Raghavendra’s wife Spandana Raghavendra passed away in Bangkok late on Sunday night following a heart attack. She was 41 years old. She reportedly suffered a massive heart attack while she was on a vacation in Bangkok.
Family sources said she had low blood pressure, leading to the heart attack and death. A source in the industry said she was supposed to return to India on Monday and was scheduled to participate in a movie promotion.
Daughter of retired police officer B K Shivaram, Spandana married Vijay in 2007. The couple has a son named Shourya born in 2010. Spandana was immediately rushed to a hospital on Monday morning, soon after she collapsed. After reaching the hospital, she was declared dead. The mortal remains of Spandana are likely to reach on Tuesday and final rites will be performed in Bengaluru.
Vijay Raghavendra
Vijay Raghavendra is an Indian actor in Kannada films. He is popularly known as “Chinnari Mutha”. For playing the role of Puttaraj Gawai in the biographical film Shivayogi Sri Puttayyajja in 2016, Vijay won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor. In 2018, he made his directorial debut in Kismath (2018). Vijay also won the first season of the game show Bigg Boss in 2013 ( Kannada version ).
Vijay is the eldest child of producer S. A. Chinne Gowda and his wife Jayamma. His younger brother Sriimurali is a popular Kannada film actor. His paternal aunt Parvathamma Rajkumar was a prominent film producer and distributor in Kannada cinema. He is the cousin of actors Shiva Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar. On 26 August 2007, he married a Tulu-speaking girl, Spandana, the daughter of Assistant Commissioner of Police, B. K. Shivaram. The couple has a son named Shourya. Spandana Vijay Raghavendra died on 7 August 2023 from cardiac arrest in Bangkok.
Spandana, apart from making a cameo appearance in V Ravichandran’s 2016 movie Apoorva, has also produced a couple of her husband’s films, as reported by India TV. She pursued her education at Stella Maris College in Bengaluru and MES College in Kerala and was also a recognised and admired dancer.
Spandana’s brother, Rakshith Shivaram, holds a prominent position as a state general of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).
