The original name of Mukesh Ambani is Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani. He was born on was born on 19 April 1957. He was born in the British Crown colony of Aden which is now known as Yemen. Yemen is a country in Western Asia. Mukesh was born into a Gujarati family. His parents are Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani and Mrs. Kokilaben Ambani. Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani moved back to India in 1958. Dhirubhai planned to start a trading business that focused on spices and textiles in India.

The brothers, however, feuded over control, leading to a split with Mukesh assuming control of the gas, oil, and petrochemicals units as RIL, while Anil got telecommunications, power generation, and financial services units through a demerger.
